It has been nearly two years since we converted from Prudential Kahler Real Estate, to Keller Williams Realty Black Hills. During that time, I have been asked many questions regarding the change. Questions such as: Why did you change to a different franchise? Did you retire, or sell out? Did you form a new partnership that was supposed to be called Kahler Williams?
While these are all valid questions, the short answer is that Prudential sold its Real Estate division, forcing us to make a choice. When our franchise agreement expired, we decided to make a change to the newer and very forward thinking franchise of Keller Williams Realty. Keller Williams Realty is an American, international real estate franchise, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Founded in 1983 by Gary Keller and Joe Williams, it grew from a single office in Austin, to approximately 700 offices and 125,000 associates worldwide.
We chose to change to Keller Williams Realty because we identify with their beliefs, and core values. We love what we do, and enjoy helping others turn their dreams into reality. This thought process follows the Keller Williams motto: “To build careers worth having, businesses worth owning, and lives worth living.”
We have always believed that our agents are among the best in Rapid City, and the surrounding Black Hills. We now have the numbers to back up our belief. Since the transition to Keller Williams Realty Black Hills, we have gone from a fourth place position in Rapid City’s Real Estate market, to first place.
We currently have 81 highly motivated sales associates working with us. We have 67 sales agents based in our Rapid City office, and 14 in our Spearfish office. We have just leased a new space for the Spearfish office, which will allow us to grow to approximately 25 agents, giving us the opportunity to take the #1 position in the Mount Rushmore region.
The training model that Keller Williams offers is like nothing I have experienced in my 40 years of real estate experience. Through Keller Williams, we are able to offer cutting edge line
s of thinking, profit sharing with people who have contributed to the company’s growth, as well as mentorship training with experienced and successful real estate professionals. Additional resources such as specialized training, conferences, and cutting edge systems and technology merely scratches the surface of the resources available to our sales associates. The growth potential, both personally and professionally, is limitless.
For those of you still wondering if I will be retiring soon, the answer is NO WAY! Being a REALTOR® is in my blood, and with this refreshed perspective that Keller Williams has presented, there are too many exciting things happening.
